Pokemon Go coincide con Federico García Lorca en San Francisco, California

3 de Noviembre de 2016 – San Francisco, CA: Parafraseando una popular frase estadounidense, si juegas Pokemon vendrán; o como hubiese podido decir Federico García Lorca: “… soy el inmenso Pokemon de mis lágrimas”. Ahora, una placa de bronze en el Paseo del Honor Arcoíris en honor del dramaturgo español, y héroe del colectivo LGBT despierta interés no solo en los historiadores, sino también en los jugadores de Pokemon Go: el juego que ha tomado al mundo por sorpresa.

“Cualquier cosa que ayude a promocionar al Paseo del Honor Arcoíris y las contribuciones de los homenajeados, incluyendo a Federico García Lorca, es algo positivo” comenta el fundador y presidente de la junta administrativa David Perry.

El Paseo del Honor Arcoíris conmemora los logros de personas importantes para el colectivo LGBT a través de la historia. Lorca fue uno de los primeros 20 homenajeados cuyas placas fueron instaladas en el 2014. Este verano se anunciaron 24 nuevos homenajeado, cuyas placas están previstas para la primavera del 2017. El objetivo del juego es recolectar “pokeballs" y así poder capturar monstruos Pokemon. Cuando los jugadores usando sus teléfonos inteligentes y la aplicación Pokemon Go pasan por la calle Castro verán unos marcadores azules sobrepuestos en el mapa; y cuando estén lo suficientemente cerca de la placa de Federico García Lorca, su pantalla cambiará y verán una imagen de la placa de Lorca junto con el icono Pokemon correspondiente para poder recolectar varios “pokeballs”.

“Lorca siempre estuvo a la vanguardia a la hora de utilizar distintos medios de comunicación”, dice el fundador y presidente de la junta administrativa del Paseo del Honor Arcoíris David Perry. “Me parece que de alguna forma a Lorca le hubiese gustado el experimento de comunicación social que representa Pokemon Go”.
