Steve is a published writer and editor with thirty years experience in public relations, internal communications, congressional and government relations, LGBT community publications and HIV/AIDS activism. He has produced all types of written materials for clients ranging from large corporations to small businesses, including marketing plans, congressional testimony, speeches, brochures, newsletters, shareholder briefings and press materials. More recently, he has worked in website content, healthcare articles, event planning and edited a variety of online newsletters.
He is particularly proud of co-founding the first LGBT Marketing Group within the public relations firm Hill & Knowlton, acting as editor of internal communications for Barnes & Noble, producing all briefings for policyholders as Equitable Life Assurance converted from a mutual to publicly traded company, advising the AIDS Action Council on legislative issues, serving as a regular columnist for the New York Blade and publishing the collected columns as Pride, Politics & Plague in 2011. He has also published dozens of articles for a variety of business, advertising, legal, public relations, healthcare, charity and LGBT publications and websites.
Steve is originally from Kansas City, Missouri. He is a member of National Writers Union, Out Professionals, National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association, New York Publishing Triangle and the Lambda Literary Foundation. He served two terms on the Palm Springs Human Rights Commission.
