Shoulder to Shoulder – Thousands of People Form Human Chain Along Israel’s Coastline in Unified Call for Return of Hostages

19 April 2024: Today, just days before Passover’s celebration of liberty, thousands of people lined the coastline of Israel, shoulder to shoulder — a powerful human chain united in one call: Release the Hostages. The families of the hostages joined thousands from the general public in this moving display.

The human chain stretched along the coastline from Hof HaBonim to Rishon LeZion.

On many beaches around Israel, displays were also set up as part of this moving initiative, meant to remind Israeli citizens visiting the beaches during the Passover holiday that there are still 133 hostages held captive in Hamas tunnels in Gaza.

“In my eyes, true power is to come and stand behind the families quietly, without slogans. If we stand together quietly – that is power,” said Shelly Shem-Tov, mother of the hostage Omer Shem-Tov, who initiated the event as part of The Hostages Families Forum.
